We've updated our Asset Plan and we want your feedback.

Across our municipality we have infrastructure assets that stretch from the King Valley in the South to Boorhaman in the North. In financial terms, these assets are valued at approximately $586 million.

Did you know that the Rural City of Wangaratta manages:

  • More than 1900 km of roads, 2/3 of which are unsealed
  • 301 km of pathways
  • 226 km of stormwater pipes
  • 409 bridges and culverts
  • 150 buildings
  • 43 playgrounds
  • 96 sports grounds and courts

The draft Asset Plan provides a strategic framework for managing Council’s assets, roads, drainage, buildings, and open spaces, ensuring they are fit for purpose and financially sustainable.

We want to ensure our assets are managed to balance the current and future needs and interests of all residents, businesses and visitors of the Rural City of Wangaratta.

The Draft Asset Plan has been developed over the past 10 months with the Council Plan and Community Vision. These documents have come together with the contributions of more than 2,000 people and 3,200 ideas from the community and service providers working in the municipality. The draft Asset Plan incorporates updated asset registers and valuations, and has considered feedback from the development of the Council Plan and Financial Plan.
