NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEASE LAND

The Rural City of Wangaratta (Council) gives notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act (the Act) of its intention to explore the installation of multiple universal electric vehicle (EV) chargers in Glenrowan and to negotiate a lease with an external provider to deliver this service. Council intends to enter into a lease agreement for a period of 10 years or more. The total land to be leased will be negotiated.

As part of this initiative, preliminary investigations were undertaken on road reserve on Kate Street, east of Gladstone Street as a suitable location for electric vehicle infrastructure. Further investigations have shown a more suitable site to be leased on Gladstone Street.

This project aligns with our commitment to expanding EV charging availability across the region and improving accessibility for both residents and visitors.

Submissions were open during April 2026.  We’re currently in the process of reviewing internal documents and will share more details about this project soon. If you have any questions, please contact Zaylee Saint-James Turner, Sustainability Officer.
