Draft Tree Management Policy for the Rural City of Wangaratta
We havedevelopedadraftTreeManagementPolicytoguidehowtreesaremanagedacrosstheRuralCityofWangaratta,includingdecisionsabouttreeretention,planting,protection,riskmanagement,maintenanceandremoval,particularlyonCouncil-managedland.
It aims to balance public safety, infrastructure needs, environmental outcomes and community benefit, while supporting a healthy and growing tree canopy in line with the Council Plan 2025–2029.
Council is seeking community feedback on whether the draft policy is clear, balanced and responsive to community expectations.
The feedback survey is open until Monday, 28 September 2026.
