YOU helped shape the future for young people in North East Victoria.

Earlier this year we called out for young people who wanted to make a difference in their community and work on a project that puts youth voices front and centre. A group of amazing young people came together to be part of What YOUth Want — a project focused on co-designing a new Youth Strategy for Wangaratta.

Working alongside a consultant, the group designed a youth census called What YOUth Want to better understand what matters most to young people in the region. The census ran from March 29 to May 11 and received an incredible 872 responses.

This information will directly shape our new Youth Strategy, ensuring it reflects the real needs, priorities, and aspirations of young people in our community
