Community Food Survey
How do you access food in our community? Take the survey so we can better understand your needs.
We are seeking community input to understand the local food system and identify needs and priorities relating to food access. This information will enable Council and the Rural City of Wangaratta Sustainable Food Alliance to better respond to the needs of the community.
What do we mean by “food system”?
“Local food systems” refer to the aspects of the food system that occur within a region, such as locally produced or processed food. It also includes services, programs, initiatives or assets that impact how people interact with, access or consume food locally. Examples include community gardens, community kitchens, farmers markets, food swaps, gardening groups or education programs.
What is the Sustainable Food Alliance?
The Rural City of Wangaratta is undertaking the VicHealth Local Government Partnership program module ‘Building better food systems for healthier communities’. To achieve the goals of the program, Council has engaged with Sustain: The Australian Food Network and collaborated with health services, community groups, schools and individual community members to form the Rural City of Wangaratta Sustainable Food Alliance.
This survey was adapted from survey questions provided by Sustain: The Australian Food Network and Alpine Health, and developed in collaboration with the Sustainable Food Alliance.
The survey results will be shared with the Sustainable Food Alliance group and used to develop an action plan to address local issues. By sharing your valuable experiences with us, you will help inform us about the challenges, opportunities, and priorities in the local food system.
Complete the survey for your chance to win one of three $50 vouchers.
